Audi fans have been anticipating the 2013 Audi RS5 and it is finally announced that it will start for sale at $68,900, with $895 addition for destination fees. This high performance sports coupe has a 4.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 which will give 444 horsepower and 317 pound feet of torque which, while not touching the Camaro or Shelby Mustang super sports cars, is more than enough for luxury coupe drivers. This engine is mated to a seven speed dual clutch transmission. There is also a rear sport differential that partners with the Quattro all wheel drive system to help with cornering and create rear wheel drive power when needed. Oh, and about those horses, they will go from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds. Not bad for the conservative styling, but surprising that Audi didn’t put one of their more powerful engines in what is being classified as a sports coupe. Their other sedans will beat this one in a race.
From the sounds of it the 2013 Audi RS5 is a baser model than many of Audi’s other new releases. It does have the Singleframe honeycomb grille, a unique front and rear bumper and front splitter and rear diffuser and offers the Audi connect and Audi MMI Navigation plus options. The Audi MMI Navigation plus system has Google Maps, Google Voice Local Search, weather, news, travel information and real time fuel prices to choose the best stations to gas up at. It also has Wi-Fi connection for up to eight devices so driver and passengers can get their fill from whatever Wi-Fi devices they happen to be carrying around with them. Audi fans should be pretty excited to see these roll out at their local dealerships. With several other models from Audi on the way, the top seller remains to be seen.
