Now THIS is the super sports car that teenager boy’s dream of! The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe has put the super into sports car in a big way and the only thing that is missing is a cape. While it’s not a Chevy Corvette ZR1, who cares? It’s still a blast to drive and has more power than the typical driver will ever be able to make full use out of unless they don’t mind breaking some serious speed limit laws. It has a 6.2 liter V8 that is masterfully tuned to give 430 horsepower and 424 pound feet of torque.

While the V8 is created to be fine tuned for the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe it drives like a dream and some critics are saying this version is more fun to drive than it’s big brother ZR1 model, although that could be a matter of taste. But the Grand Sport has General Motor’s Z52 Active Handling, a higher and wider rear spoiler, unique body components and the Z52 Performance Package that leave it feeling as if it were built to hug the road for high speed, road hugging action. The Performance Package has a track ready sump oil system, differential cooler, larger cross drilled brakes and stick Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.

Taming a big American V8 isn’t easy, but Chevrolet has done an excellent job. Upgraded with GM’s Active Handling, unique body components and a higher, wider rear spoiler, our car also featured the Z52 Performance Package (bundled with a track-ready dry-sump oil system, differential cooler, sticky Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires and larger cross-drilled brakes). This all combines to let the Chevy Vette Grand Sport go from 0 to 60 in an easy four seconds and cruise at a top speed of around 190 miles per hour, which is what a filled up commercial jetliner gets up to in order to lift off.

2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe starts at $56,000 which is a great price as it will easily go head to head with some of the other more famous super sports coupes out today that start at more. If you want the options though, such as the Magnetic Selective Ride Control and other pick and choose through options you could quickly get up to a price of around $70,340.
