While test driving engineers are usually more careful when sneaking new models out for a cruise, the engineers testing the 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid was sneaking around the streets of Los Angeles, California almost completely exposed. Spy cameraman were doing their best to get a good clear shot of this latest new offering from Honda, but the night skies added shadowing to help keep the sedan under wraps. From the picture, you can get a pretty good idea of what we will be in store for when the 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid is finally revealed though.
The concept of the 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid was shown off at the Beijing Motor Show, but as we all know, many concepts get crushed and the final model isn’t always what we thought it might be when it hits the market. But the grille and headlights on the Accord plug-in that was discreetly testing its prowess on the streets over the past couple of nights looks like it will be pretty close to original concept.
The item that fully gave this Honda model away as being the 2013 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid was the extra fuel filler door that is seen on the front fender. While we are unsure if the updated front fascia will remain through the final version it looks like it will definitely add some excitement to what is otherwise an unexciting, if provincial looking sedan. The squared off bumper edges and little spoiler on the lip of the trunk seem to add some spice to the overall look though and is exactly what we think Honda is going for. Having a plug-in hybrid with a little sass is something that will make it more appealing to drive over its less inspired designs of some of its competitors.
