The last model of the Honda CR-Z didn’t bring in the numbers that Honda was hoping for, so they did what any other astute business would do. They went back to the drawing board to make a better product. From the looks of it, the 2013 Honda CR-Z is updated to create an offer Honda fans won’t be able to refuse. Honda has given it a whole slew of updates to make sure it appeals to even the most discriminating version, as well as to make sure it’s keeping up with the competition. We aren’t sure about the purple version pictured here, but it certainly is a cry out for “look at me driving”. We would like to see the 2013 Honda CR-Z in something a little less Barney and a little more Flaming red or ominous black.
Despite the bold color choice for the 2013 Honda CR-Z debut at the Paris Motor Show, there is a lot more to consider past the hue. It has a new drivetrain which promises to have more power including a 1.5 liter engine with an electric motor combination to have some additional oomph, yet still stay clean and fuel efficient. Along with the updated drivetrain, the CR-Z has a new engine computer and revised variable valve timing conspire that will bump the horses up from a sluggish 114 to a well, not quite so sluggish 121. But, the lithium ion battery pack, brand new for the CR-Z models and refreshed motor will serve to add another 20 horses which will make driving a lot more comfortable for those who like to zip around their roadways.
You can see that the 2013 Honda CR-Z has a new fascia, grille and headlamps that include LED strips and this gives it a much better appeal. The rear end didn’t get quite as much; it did get a new diffuser though. The interior was also given a nice little refresh with new fabrics, textures and LED lighting.
