We aren’t sure how this is happening, maybe because the 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited is clearly going head to head with the 2013 Ford Fusion, but the critics can’t seem to stop talking about the Fusion long enough to really look at the Kia Optima SX Limited. While they are both sedans, a Ford is a Ford and a Kia is a Kia. Now that we got that straight, let’s look at what the new Optima SX Limited is all about.
The 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited is one of the best looking Kia’s in this particular category to come out in quite some time and it gets points for that alone. If it will be enough to tear American’s away from their favorite United States vehicle, we aren’t sure about. It has all new trim and includes a bit more swag for those who were getting bored of the conservative styling of past models. The interior wasn’t left alone either and it has some great new additions including a better grade Nappa leather upholstery and a higher grade of black cloth on the headliner and pillars. Both of those elements also got some unique wood grain looking accents. The center console is designed to face the driver and has simple controls for easy operations.
A 2.0 liter engine is hosted under the hood of the 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited. This is good for a potent 274 horsepower and 269 pound feet of torque. While it’s a bit slow on the take off, it does give a smooth power delivery for cruising. The standard option is a six speed automatic transmission with electronic power steering. Critics can’t seem to make up their mind about the feel of the steering for overall performance, while it is not totally unfortunate it is a bit less than wonderful.
