The one thing that seems to stand out about the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C over its closest competitors, beyond its immediately eye-catching appeal is that for a super car, it is more comfortable and drivable for the long haul than the made for speed cohorts. The comfort shouldn’t fool you though because this Spider is also built for speed, to the point many drivers will never be able to fully experience unless they don’t mind losing major points and paying hefty fines, or can get a hold of a raceway to test it out in.

The 3.8 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine in the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C has been reengineered to a point that takes it from the previous version’s 592 horsepower up to 616 horses, the torque is still at 443 pound feet. This power will take you for 0 to 60 in an unbelievable 2.9 seconds with the right tires. You will also hit top speeds of 204 miles per hour. As we mentioned, not many drivers will ever be able to reach that kind of speed under any sort of normal driving conditions, but it’s nice to know that you can if you need to.

The addition of a hard top convertible for the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C makes it even more attractive but the noise when the top down can be deafening, especially for higher driving speeds. The hard top works great though and will automatically open and close at speeds of around 20 miles per hour. Beyond the convertible option though, the rest of the styling isn’t that much different than previous models, but that isn’t always a bad thing.

Of course the interior of the 2013 McLaren MP4-12C is still a favorite due to the comfort level and high tech options that are included. There is dual zone climate control and window opening controls on the door side armrests which allows the center console to be more functional in a streamlined design. This positions the seats closer to the center of the car which offers a unique performance feeling in and of itself. Overall, this Spider should sell great, if you can get over the louder driving experience.
