The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is gearing up to hit the dealerships in just a few more months and the price has been announced to start at $24,995, not including the $795 destination charge. This latest sedan from Volkswagen is expected to be the most powerful hybrid to date due to the addition of the world’s first hybrid to use a seven speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It will also be the most fuel efficient Jetta to be released with getting around 45 miles per gallon.
The power for the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is due in part to the 1.4 turbocharged four cylinder engine. It’s mated to a 27 horsepower electric vehicle for even more get up and go. This combination has the Jetta offering 170 horsepower and 184 pound feet of torque which is impressive for a hybrid. It will go from 0 to 60 in less than 9 seconds and what is even more interesting is that it will cruise at EV mode at speeds as high as 44 miles per hour, a first with this type of technology.
This Jetta is a Volkswagen, so you can expect all the bells and whistles that the German automaker is known to add in their vehicles. The base version Hybrid comes with daytime running lights, power and heated mirrors, 15-inch alloy wheels, Climatronic climate control, Bluetooth and a collection of other features. If you still want more you can opt for the Hybrid SE which starts at $26,990. This version will add LED taillights, power reclining front seats, a MDI audio interface with iPod connectivity, a premium touchscreen radio, Sirius and keyless access. You can also go all out and get the Hybrid SEL for $29,325. This will give you 16-inch alloys, a power sunroof, navigation, heated washer nozzles, heated seats and a full-power driver’s seat, or one step up for that even is the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid SEL Premium. This has it all, plus bi-xenon headlamps with LED running lights, foglights, 17-inch wheels, a rear-view camera and Volkswagen’s excellent Fender audio system.
