Watch it while you can because no one knows how long this video is going to be left up. So far it was marked as private and then didn’t show up at all, and now it looks like instead of deleting it, they re-published it. Either way, you will see an interesting video that even has some cool background music of the 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Fascia being designed. We know how hard automakers work at keeping their new versions a secret, and with the Corvette as hot as it is, no one believes this little preview of what we might be able to expect was published on purpose.
The 2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette is on schedule to hit the market during next year’s car sales and is obviously going through some exciting change ups. We couldn’t expect any less from this world famous American sportster. It does take a little of the anticipation away to see how it’s being made ahead of an official debut, but the sneak peek of the new fascia did wet our appetites.
Just in case the video goes down before you get a chance to view it, it shows the fascia being built and details such as angled corner air inlets become apparent. You can also see the lower part of the air dam is given some prominent teeth on the leading edge, overall, quite different than the C6.
No one “in the know” is making any comments about this. The closest statement we could get is, “As we’re building the prototype cars for the next generation Corvette we are working with suppliers… to begin the process of tooling for the early prototype cars before they go into production,” said the spokesperson. The video was made by Omega Tool Corp. who is one of General Motor’s Tier 1 suppliers. They wanted to show off how well they can mold complicated plastic body panels, but we think whoever uploaded the video didn’t understand how to publish it to remain private.
