PRESS RELEASE
Chevrolet is getting pumped up about the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and are starting to leak their own spy shots. Images are showing up on their website and their Facebook page to let Silverado fans get a tease of what’s in store for them for this next refresh. From the looks of it, what can be made out around the camo that is, this popular truck is going to hit the roadways hard with the power and performance that can only be delivered by a Chevy truck.
Just like a slow strip tease, only part of the camo is missing from this most recent 2014 Chevrolet Silverado truck spy image. While that’s enough to get the imagination running, it looks as if the overall shape of the truck isn’t being changed up much and that’s not a bad thing since this particular Silverado body style is leaving heads turning all over the United States. What we can’t see are the smaller details that may have been refreshed and we all know the small details can lead up to some pretty impressive updates.
The spy shots of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado don’t give us any hint to what’s under the hood, but we know that the Silverado is focused on going head to head against Ford. The primary powerplant is expected to be a fifth generation small block V8 that is supposed to have been built with an aluminum head, direct injection and cylinder deactivation for high performance operations. But the rumor is that a turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 is also in the works for this truck. That engine would be General Motor’s answer to the Ford EcoBoost that is hosted in the F-150.
There is no confirmed release date that we’ve found, but we do know that this image comes from the final validation testing, so it won’t be long before you can start test driving your own new Silverado.
