While the automakers like to keep a lot of their plans under wraps, there is no escaping it when a new trademark is applied for. The cat is out of the bag for General Motors and the new application in the works to secure the Z28 trademark for a new Camaro version. People are loving the new Camaro models coming out, so it makes sense to create a brand new one to keep the excitement stirred up, but beyond the trademark application, we have no news as to what General Motors may have in store for a brand new Camaro for the many fans to salivate over.
Many are surprised that the Z28 named wasn’t used for the Camaro ZL1 supercharged version, of course there is the SS and 1LE models for that as well, but one Camaro owner did discover a diffuser bracket on his Camaro ZL1 that had the Z28 trademark stamped on it which is leaving everyone curious as to what General Motors actually has in store for this new trademark. We do have to mention that many trademarks are applied for and few ever come to fruition, although they do help circulate some amazing water cooler gossip and the Z28 seems to be one of the hotter items to have something to offer to the water cooler gang.
It’s hard reaching to think that any new model could top the Camaro ZL1 performance, but whispering has it that the General Motors Camaro team just may in fact, have the advanced technology and creativity to outdo themselves with something that could even overcome the ZL1 beast. Of course then again, it could just be that General Motors wants to further separate the ZL1 from the SS since Chevy has a Zeta based SS sedan coming out sometime next year. If the Z28 named replaced SS for the Camaro lineup, it would certainly help avoid confusion.
