Chevrolet and NABJ Members Join with Inter Faith Food Shuttle

As a prelude to the 2011 convention of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), journalists from Atlanta and Chicago will join with Chevrolet to deliver food to Senior Citizens and low-income families.  The NABJ convention is being held in Philadelphia, August 3-7, 2011.  Journalists from Chicago and Atlanta will join members of the Chevrolet team traveling to the convention and take part in community service projects along the way.

The road trip, “The Road to NABJ: Powered by Chevrolet” began Sunday, July 31st in Atlanta and Chicago on Sunday, July 31st and will end in Philadelphia on Tuesday August 2nd.  The teams will document their trips and experiences on video and take part in scavenger hunts as the Chevrolet volunteers and NABJ members join is community service projects keeping with the theme of the NABJ convention, “The Power of Now Claiming Your Destiny.”

The NABJ members will participate with Chevrolet at Inter-Faith Food Shuttle on August 1st in Raleigh, North Carolina.  They will be taking part in a project to pack and deliver healthy, nutritious grocery bags for senior citizens and low-income families.  Part of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s continuing enterprise to pioneer original and revolutionary solutions to end hunger in the community.  A member of Feeding America, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has been working to end the increasing problem of hunger in our communities for over 22 years
