Chrysler has been hard at work updating their Dodge line and from the sounds of it there are some pretty exciting new models that will be added. We are all ready looking forward to the upcoming re-launch of the redesigned Dodge SRT Viper (Was the Dodge Viper without the “SRT”). The SRT Viper is rumored to be the vehicle that will dominate the fast Mopar segment. Apparently that is just the beginning of the changes to the Dodge stable through, and more exciting all the new vehicles are expected to hit the United States dealerships throughout the next three years.

What most of those who follow Dodge seem to be the most excited about is the engineering and redesign plans for the 2014 and 2015 Dodge Challenger muscle car. This coupe is thought to get significantly smaller for the 2015 year, up to two to three inches anyway from the current 116 inch wheelbase. A launch control is also speculated as a new addition to one of the more popular Dodge versions.

This new version of the Dodge Challenger, with SRT tuning no less, currently the SRT8 model is said to be taking over the Barracuda space. The reincarnated Dodge Barracuda, or “Cuda” as the car aficionados affectionately refer to it as will have a brand spanking new 6.2 liter V8 which has critics rubbing their hands together in gleeful anticipation. While not much more is being offered at this point, we do know Dodge will have to work hard to keep up with the competition in this segment which includes the Camaro ZL1 and Ford Shelby GT500, in order to do this, it will have to give at the minimum 500 horsepower.

Of course it will still be some time before that model is revealed to us. In the meantime Dodge Charger fans can look forward to the new performance version coming out early next year. A new Dodge Dart with SRT4 tuning will come out about that time as well.
