Ford Does Great at the Texas Truck Rodeo Awards, While Chrysler Successfully Defends Their SUV Crown

The new Ford F-150 took home an absolute slew of awards, courtesy of the Texas Auto Writers Association. The new F-150 beat out competitors to take home the Truck of Texas coveted title at the annual Truck Rodeo. Without a doubt, this award is the most prestigious honor that can be bestowed upon a vehicle at the rodeo, but Ford also picked up some other awards along the way. The new 2012 Ford Edge picked up the CUV of Texas Award. Also, the EcoBoost engine technology was named the best vehicle feature by TAWA. Also, the entire line of Ford Pickups took home the Truck Line of Texas award. In other words, Ford pretty much swept the whole awards show.

After it was all said and done, Ford took home 7 awards in total. Ford also nailed the best heavy duty award, the best luxury award, and an award for their full-size pickups.

However, Chrysler did significantly well, as well. The new 2012 Jeep Cherokee took home the best SUV of Texas Trophy. Meanwhile, TAWA named the Jeep Cherokee’s sister, the Wrangler Unlimited with the mid-sized SUV of Texas title. Dodge also took an award home with them as well. Their Dodge Durango was named the full-size SUV of Texas.

Ford definitely surprised a lot of people with all of the awards they took home. It was especially surprising at how well the Ford Edge did in the competition. I, myself, just bought a brand new 2012 Silver Ford Edge, and I have been nothing, but impressed with it. So, this news was definitely nice to come across. I’m a proud Ford Edge owner, and it is nice to see that it is finally getting some of the recognition that it deserves.
