Nissan is so proud of their new 2013 Altima that they can’t seem to quit making quirky commercials to market it. The Altima does have the best in class fuel efficiency for a non-hybrid model in its class. It gets a respectable 38 highway miles per gallon. Nissan also added a lighter, yet stronger frame to the sedan gave it quicker acceleration and increased power among a variety of other updates. Critics remark that it is an unexciting design, but filled with up to date standard features, with great handling and optimal comfort.
The first video reminds us that innovation excites and starts off with “Wouldn’t it be cool if someone took mid-sized sedans and broke the mold? We took our best selling Altima back to its essence and re-imagined it completely.” This one is okay, but reminiscent of a documentary style approach. The “Breakup Video” is pretty funny and is about a 2013 Nissan Altima owner breaking up with his gas station attendant. Finally a cute commercial about the air tire pressure alert system is shown. Nissan has also created additional videos including a high tech and heavy visual effects. They are probably saving those for a special release. It leaves us wondering what they will come up with for their SuperBowl commercial.
From the looks of the commercials they are creating, they are putting as much of their budget into advertising, as they are into design and engineering. Because of this we can only assume that they have place high expectations on a successful sales season for this latest Altima model. While we wait to find out about that, you can view the videos for yourself and make up your own mind.
