The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Wagon concept is considered to be one of the hottest pieces of news to leak before the 2012 Paris Motor Show, which kicks off tomorrow. This new concept is starting to live up to what you might expect a Porsche to appear as. The five door hatchback Panamera, looks, well, sexier and from what everyone can guess has its sights directly on going head to head with the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake.

This leaked Panamera Sport Turismo Concept image is a little confusing because it looks as if it takes pieces and parts of different Porsche models and sort of mish-mashes them together, but we aren’t complaining, just fascinated. We can see a chopped up Cayenne, with Boxster headlights and 911 taillamps and a rear end that leaves everyone rubbing their jaws and trying to make up their mind about how the feel about it. However you make up your own mind, you have to admit it is definitely distinctive styling at its finest. The Panamera did need an updated fascia and it looks as if that is in store for the upcoming model. Rumors are also circulating about an updated cabin that will host some high tech gadgets to take over the overwhelming amount of buttons the previous Panamera versions have scattered around the driver’s area of the cabin.

For now the concept is being build around an “e-Hybrid” designation that will add a trunk mounted battery pack and a single drive motor. The motor will power the rear axle of the rear wheel drive V6 version of the Panamera. We aren’t sure how that will handle, but the Porsche Press release states, “Porsche is presenting the Panamera Sport Turismo concept car to show how amazingly intelligent and efficient drive technology might look in the design language of tomorrow. The Sport Turismo unites the next generation hybrid drive with new ideas for an evolutionary, sporty body concept; it combines Porsche performance with comprehensive everyday practicality.”
