Romania’s Department for Organized Crime and Terrorism caught one of the most bungled crimes ever seen. Viewers just have to wonder what on earth this Romanian crime ring was thinking to attempt a robbery while cruising at highway speeds in their SUV. Maybe their ego was getting the best of them after this gang has been stealing cigarettes and televisions to sell in Bucharest. It is not reported exactly what was going through the criminals minds while attempting this “jackass” style robbery. What we do know is that it lead to their arrest and innocent truckers can rest easier knowing people aren’t going to be trying to crawl through their back door while they make their way through the highways to get their loads to the docks on time.
The video shows a normal highway scene, with an SUV driving up closer and closer to the back of a cargo truck. Two men are shown crawling through the SUV sunroof and the braver of the two climbs out onto the hood far enough to reach and open the back door of the cargo truck, with his accomplice hanging on to keep him stable. The doors look to be opened easily enough, but either their bravery fell short, or whatever was in the cargo truck wasn’t worth their risk, because they thoughtfully close the doors of the cargo truck and climb back through the sunroof to the safety of the SUV passenger cabin. It wasn’t long before the SUV driving gang members were arrested and will face charges for this ridiculous escapade as well as anything else that can possibly be found in regard to their part of the Romani to Bucharest thefts.
While the video looks as if this were an easy to accomplish trick by the criminals, we would suggest that you do not try this on your own. Not only will you be made to look like complete idiots when you are taped and uploaded to YouTube, the safety risks could cost you more than an arm and leg.
