If you wanted to get a grand, high resolution photo of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, you are going to be a little disappointed with the image that is attached to this blog. Why is that? Well, that’s because Nissan released one image of the vehicle, and it’s dark – very dark. Therefore, if you want to get a really good look at the vehicle, you are just going to have to wait until it makes its debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. This vehicle, however, has definitely inspired some people to experience a little bit of déjà vu. The Pathfinder is going to be the Nissan crossover of the Infiniti JX which you may have heard about at last month’s Los Angeles Auto Show.

This will mean that the Pathfinder, one of the few body on frame SUVs that is currently being sold, will be making the switch to a unibody construction for its four iteration. Ford made this same move last year, with the Ford Explorer, so Nissan cannot be at fault for the Pathfinder, for what its worth, has made a shift from body on frame to unibody before, for its first and second generations.

The Infiniti JX is expected to compete with such models as the Acura MDZ and the BMW X5, but the 2013 Pathfinder will be expected to take on the Explorer, Chevy Traverse, Honda Pilot, and the Dodge Durango. It will most certainly be interesting to see how all of this will pan out. If you want to see more of the vehicle, you may not have to wait until the Detroit Auto Show is underway. Nissan is launching some FaceBook promotions, so you may be able to expect some more teaser images to surface over the next three weeks leading up to the big debut.
