The New 2013 DeLorean EV Gets Some Test Runs By Enthusiasts

You read it right, the new electric DeLorean DMC-12 is coming in 2013. That is at least what the reborn DeLorean Motor Company said. This news undoubtedly came as a shock to most people when this news was released by DeLorean in October of this year. The announcement was made at the DMC Texas Open House. A lot of people were left with their mouths hanging open after this shocking announcement, and needless to say, we are super excited to see a new DeLorean being released.

You may be asking what else happened on that mid-October day. Well, a selected few DeLorean enthusiast that were attending the event were allowed to take this new DeLorean out on the track for a test drive of the new electric prototype. There has been a video posted on the Internet of the new DeLorean going around the track. We cannot say for certain whom is driving the new DeLorean, but it looks like Cameron Wynne, whom is the son of the owner of the company. The video is full of excitement, because it has been so long since we have seen a DeLorean hitting the track.

The new DeLorean DMCEV-12 can hit 60mph in a quick 4.9 seconds, and maxes out at a top speed of 125mph like it is nothing. In other words, Marty  McFly and Doctor Emmitt Brown could hit that 88mph mark in no time at all. Needless to say, they would be happy with the all-new DeLorean. That is, if they could afford one. The new electric DeLorean is reported to carry a heavy price tag at $100,000. Therefore, do not expect to see many of these things on the road, unfortunately. Not many people are going to be willing to shell out 100k for a DeLorean, in my humble opinion.
