Traditional SUVs to Include Nissan Xterra

Even though the 2013 Pathfinder no longer has the body-on-frame ways that the Pathfinder drivers expected, Nissan is going to continue creating traditional SUV styles instead of crossovers. Car and Driver reports the Nissan XTerra will not have a unibody feature for any time in the near future. Engineers that are familiar with Xterra’s research and development assured Car and Driver that the Xterra will still be built similarly to the Nissan Frontier for as far into the future as they can foresee.

This gives a great range of options for vehicle buyers. Those that want something that is going to handle in all driving conditions, including off-roading can still have their pick. Drivers who prefer smaller and softer vehicles will love the Rogue and the 2013 Pathfinder will be in competition with the Ford Explorer.

The Nissan Xterra is an adventure oriented SUV that is built for rugged terrain and hard handling. Nissan markets is as a “Go Anywhere” vehicle because of how it’s developed for driver’s with active lifestyles that want freedom to, well, go anywhere. The Xterra is equipped with Nissan’s standard safety equipment including front, side-impact and overhead curtain airbags and anti-lock disc brakes. The included stability control has integrated traction control and tire pressure monitoring to help compensate for the heartier driving conditions it is designed for.

To further entice active drivers, the Nissan Xterra includes an easy clean up rear cargo area and first aid kit. Exclusively locking rear differential, upgraded shocks, skid plates, roof-mounted lamps and all terrain tires are also featured for off road adventure driving.

Rear wheel and four-wheel drive configurations are available for the Xterra for two trim levels, the X and S. The Xterra Pro-4X only offers four-wheel drive, all models offer the choice between a 6-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic. They all feature a premium 6-disc CD changer audio system with Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
