The 2012 Beetle will be featured in a 60 second commercial at the beginning of the third quarter of Super bowl XLVI. VW has not given any details as far as the advertisement is concerned, but they did say that viewers should expect a fully integrated digital, social media, and grassroots campaign to accompany the spot.
The Force ad, in case you do not remember, featured a little version of Darth Vader (a child) trying to use his power to control everything from the washing machine to a peanut butter sandwich, but to no avail. His final attempt was at the Passat which was parked in the driveway. Unssen to him, his dad uses a remote control on the car from the inside of the house. So, what was the result? Of course, it amazed the little darth vader, and it boosted his self esteem.
The Force commercial was actually voted Number One ad of the year by Adweek and was able to rack up more than 45 million views on YouTube. With the Super Bowl just right around the corner, Hyundai has said that they will be making a humorous approach when it comes Super Bowl offerings for the next year.
