Who wouldn’t love a job that allows you to hang out all day and experience the world’s fastest supercars? That’s what Jonny Lieberman over at Motor Trend gets to do and Part two of the World’s Greatest Drag Race looks like something most people would pay to do, instead of getting paid to do it. Good for Jonny though. He and the drivers look like they had an excellent time and got to choose the World’s Greatest Drag Race Winner, and honestly, none of us were really surprised who rolled in first place this year. We will hint that it was not the new Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R was the proud winner of last year’s race, but then again there were some top supercars that weren’t in the running because the criteria for being in the race is that the car also has to be on sale during the year of the race. But, the Nissan still got to beat out the Ferrari 458 Italia last year and it was an exciting race. This year, the Lamborghini Aventador and McLaren MP4-12C rolled up to the starting line and did we see beads of sweat pop out on the Nissan driver’s forehead?
Along with the Nissan GT-R, Lamborghini Aventador and McLaren MP4-12C the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, Chevy Camaro ZL1, Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, Subaru BRZ, Jaguar XKR-S and Porsche 911 Carrera S all made it to the race. The Ferrari didn’t make it this year. While we won’t tell you who came in first, second or third, we do have to give kudos to the BRZ. As outmatched as it was, it showed up and finished even if it was far behind.
